Community Support

CHI is a global community of families, advocates, researchers, and medical professionals who are united by shared goals: support each other, educate people about HI, and drive research forward. There are many ways to find connection and support in the CHI network. Whether that is meeting others right away or taking smaller steps, we invite you to connect with us.

Join the Facebook forum! CHI hosts a private Facebook Forum for families from around the world. Here, you can ask questions, share updates, and connect with others who understand what you are experiencing. Whether you’re looking for tips, support, or people who “get it,” the forum is a great place to start.

Attend a family conference! CHI’s family conferences are a one-of-a-kind gathering where families affected by HI meet face-to-face and have the ability to connect with leading researchers, doctors, and biotechnology representatives. Over the years we have seen lifelong bonds built between families on a similar path.

These conferences offer opportunities to share your experiences and shape future research, participate in educational sessions led by HI experts, get personal support and give support to other families, and allow your children to meet other kids, teens, and adults with HI.

If the idea of attending a conference feels overwhelming so soon after diagnosis, you’re not alone. Many families have felt this way and later shared how empowering the experience was when they attended their first conference. You’re welcome to ask questions in the Facebook Forum and hear directly from others about this big step.

CHI hosts multiple conferences and events globally throughout the year, in person and virtually. We encourage you to visit our upcoming events webpage to see what is coming up and how to engage with the HI community!
