Penn Medicine/Congenital Hyperinsulinism International Pilot Grant Funding Opportunity

Raring to Go for CHI Million Dollar Bike Ride

As a result of all the bike riding and fundraising that took place earlier this year a new fund is born. The Center for Orphan Disease Research and Therapy, CODRT and CHI announce a Request for Applications (RFA) for a $60,000 a pilot grant for congenital hyperinsulinism research.

CHI hopes to continue to partner with the University of Pennsylvania year after year so that we can offer more grants for congenital hyperinsulinism research. Every day parents of children with congenital hyperinsulinism share their stories with us about how hard it is for them and their children to live with this disease. Pilot programs such as this one offer hope to all those parents that soon there will be better treatments for HI.

CHI has so many people to thank for making this fund possible. Leo Brown was our steadfast captain and chief organizer of the ride. Beth Rada and her whole family, Susan Becker, Sarah Browne, Lisa States, and Leo Brown were all intrepid riders and fundraisers. Thanks to all who donated to make this fund possible.

The RFA and guidelines for application are available on CODRT web by clicking on the link below, then on Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI).
