On Thursday, February 28, 2013, we gathered on Rare Disease Day for a cocktail party in support of Congenital Hyperinsulinism International (CHI). The purpose of this gathering, which was named “A Very Special Cocktail Party,” was threefold: one, to raise awareness of the needs of all rare disease patients, two, to share information about the rare condition congenital hyperinsulinism, and three, to raise funds for Congenital Hyperinsulinism International (CHI), so that CHI can continue its mission to support patients and their families living with the rare disorder.
The gathering took place at the Van Vleck House in Montclair, NJ, and included hors d’oeuvres and wines from Culinariane and Amanti Vino. The evening was a big success, with 120 people attending and donating to the event with an additional 47 individuals and couples who made donations but were unable to attend. Below is a slideshow with highlights from the event.
